Kody started working with neon after high school. He wandered into a neon shop along Route 66 in Albuquerque, and became acquainted with the shop owner.

During his years at the University of New Mexico, he apprenticed at Absolutely Neon, learning the trade from a master glass blower/electrician.

After graduating from UNM, Kody moved to Brooklyn, New York, and began working at Brooklyn Glass. There Kody led installations around New York City at art museums, flagship retail stores, special events, etc.

Kody then moved to Osaka, Japan, and began working with Yoshi’s Neon Studio. He learned the styles and techniques of Japanese neon making, and wrote a book about the Japanese neon industry.

Upon returning to the USA, Kody founded Neon Spectacular, a neon shop located in Norwalk, Connecticut. (50 miles from NYC).

Neon Spectacular specializes in neon, lighting, and artwork. We are always looking for fun projects to be involved with, so please kindly get in touch!
